Cross the sea to realign hope to leave the past behind Seeking change in the unknown and a new way to be shown Not to waste this chance I vow someday to repay it all Arrive beneath the setting sun the final hours before the storm Break away from the last embrace hold your breath the day has come Leap into the sea of faces swimming through this crowd I leave no traces Try to stay afloat and not go wrong walking on these streets I'm swept along But I walk on into the storm Face the wind and rain and carry on into the storm into the storm I focus on my way looking up the city rushes by But I will make it right today and all things undone I'll rectify And I walk on into the storm Face the wind and rain and carry on into the storm into the storm

I caught a glimpse of you between the people passing by never thought that you'd come here And now we're in this crowded room so many faces talk and smile but your voice is all I hear Could I finally change it all Could I finally brake the fall Could I finally change it all Could I finally brake the fall And this time with you today I never ever will forget and if I just could be with you There'd be no other place to stay and nothing more I would regret and I'd be all you need me to Could I finally change it all Could I finally brake the fall Could I finally change it all Could I finally brake the fall Take another step, no regrets this time I'm not giving in Draw another breath, another chance this is where the new begins Now I know what I must do, and I swear this to be true All the old is fading fast, let the past be in the past hope to find the real at last And I'm never turning back again 'cause now the cycle is broken now the cycle is broken Now I carry on, I won't go wrong be the best that I can be Now I found the one, it can't be wrong You're the only one I need Now I know what I must do, and I swear this to be true All the old is fading fast, let the past be in the past hope to find the real at last And I'm never turning back again 'cause now the cycle is broken now the cycle is broken

Get away, get away Turn away, turn away Again I walk alone at night under the trees, in the moonlight the distant city in my ears And I've come far but I can't see now where to go or who to be it's the same year after year Again it happens like before and I don't want this anymore now there is just one glimpse of light But I will try it one more time to find the real, to realign and see if this was worth the fight I can't tell you just how much I feel your pain or how I wish that I could take it all away And I'm not sure if I could be the one you need but with you here and now, I think I could believe If I just could carry you, if I just could carry you If I just could carry you, if I just could carry you Yes I know that you could never feel the same it's nobody's fault and there's no one to blame But you see I had to tell you anyway I'll still be here but now there's nothing left to say And I know you are the stronger one of us And I know you are the better one of us If I just could carry you, if I just could carry you If I just could carry you, if I just could carry you

Tell me why I shouldn't long to see the world in flames one too many times it came undone Tell me what's worth saving from these smouldering remains but in a hundred years it will be gone I won't partake no more in these futile attempts Failed to find the purpose in this circle that I run time and time again I come undone Failed to find a reason why I should keep moving on but in a hundred years I will be gone I won't partake no more in these futile attempts I won't partake no more I won't partake no more I won't partake no more in these futile attempts
5.
Can you reach down to me take my hand and make me see What I thought I'd left behind can I go back there to find Solace from this past we share Memories I'll ever bear Can you bring me to laugh remind me of what I have Can you shape it all anew Can you just tell me what to do Solace from this past we share Memories I'll ever bear No I won't let it fall won't give up and waste it all Though it's hard to believe it helps when you believe in me This is not the time to go pull me up from below Once embraced what now is gone stand with me we'll carry on

about

I first got the idea for 'Across the Sea' after moving abroad to study a couple of years ago:
An album about my own personal journey during this new chapter in my life. The first version of this album actually came to be as a project for my university. Over the following year of so, my experiences during this time shaped and reshaped the album into it's current and final form. I tried to explore different ways of storytelling during this project. While the lyrics provide some context of course, I've attempted to also convey feelings and events through instrumentals and the general atmosphere and mood of the songs. In truth, the songs I rather see as chapters of a story, not just seperate pieces of music. They should be seen not as seperate things, but the parts of one cohesive entity. While 'Across the Sea' was inspired by my own story, I hope other people will also be able to relate to this album. If you find joy in listening to it, that would mean the world to me. Feel free to let me know what you think about it.
I want to thank all the people who have helped my in creating this album, especially those listed below. Without them, this project would not have been possible. Thank you, and I hope to work with you again at some point in the future.
